As a Senior carer assistant an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care is essential, however a vast range of experience isn't as we offer full training and perceptorship

Senior care assistant salary: £11 - £12 per hour
Full or part time available, the shift patterns are
7AM to 2PM,
1.30 PM to 8.30PM
7AM to 8.30PM
8.15PM to 7.15AM

About the role.

We are looking for a Senior Care Assistant to promote and deliver person-centred care within our care philosophy.

The Senior Care Assistant will work within a team ethos with the resident’s choices, dignity, independence and personal safety being at the core of all care and support activity.

Specific duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to;

The Senior care assistant will provide direct care to residents involving, washing, assistance with dressing, help with mobility and support with food and fluid intake.

Being aware and participating in the development of resident Care Plans and having full awareness of any specialist support needs.

The Senior care assistant will provide on-going support for the residents, their family and the Care Services Team.

The Senior care assistant will support residents to create a homely environment in their apartments, assisting with organizing their environment to promote wellbeing and independence.

About you.

We are looking for motivated, pro-active individuals who are persistently striving for excellence.

Although we don’t require someone with any direct qualifications, the following attributes would be desirable:

Ability to communicate well, both written and verbally
A flexible and pro-active individual able to work in a team.
NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care is essential but experience is not
Ability to organise and prioritise workload under pressure
Medically able to carry out duties and responsibilities
A passionate individual ready to develop and learn new skills in order to progress in your role.

The home is a care home like no other in the area
The home is purpose built and offers exceptional accommodation, which is affordable but of a very high standard.

A one bedroom suite offers a bedroom and separate lounge and kitchen with a full en-suite wet room and is unique as it offers double the space of most care homes and is ideal for those wanting extra room or couples who want to stay together
The home has 36 Single Rooms, 35 Shared Rooms and 36 rooms with ensuite.

The home also features studio suites for those who prefer something more cosy
Rooms come unfurnished allowing residents to bring those special pieces of their home with them, something they find helps the settling in process significantly and truly makes Moorlands Lodge feel like home.

The home offers a fully licensed outstanding restaurant, the menu being dictated by current residents, and an in house cafe for residents and visitors to enjoy afternoon tea and home made cakes
The home also has a large activities team who provide trips out, visiting speakers, one to one sessions and activities which are again chosen by the resident committee.

Residents range from those who are relatively independent and still drive, to those who require respite, full nursing, dementia or end of life care and they pride themselves on providing discreet support in a place which is not institutional but as much like home as they can make it.
