â¢ A Practitioners day will entail the following duties
â¢ Be directed by their manager and deputy
â¢ Assist with setting up the preschool and packing it away
We currently set up the preschool on a Monday morning and Friday morning and pack away the preschool on a Thursday and Friday afternoon
We expect our staff to fully set up the pre-school before the children arrive ensuring it is welcoming for children, offering many different fun and challenging experiences for children to learn grow and develop
We expect staff to help tidy the hall, clean the toilets and kitchen and the garden before the team leaves at the end of the day
We expect all staff to carry out the settings risk assessments in the morning and throughout the day keeping children safe from harm.
â¢ Preschool practitioners take part in planning for their key children's development and all staff take part in planning for every child's development providing fun challenging experiences throughout each week
Practitioners are expected to join in play with their key children to observe the child's play and identify any gaps in a child's learning
Staff are to encourage children to progress in there development on a day to day basis.
â¢ Practitioners are asked to listen, encourage, enable and stimulate children in their care and ensure children are kept safe from harm at all times.
â¢ Practitioners will be asked to attend all out of hours staff meetings which will be focused around the preschool children's needs, and be asked to implement good practice within the setting, staff meetings are out of hours.
â¢ Practitioners will take part in special events, outings and visits, we have outings every week, and every term hold fun days for families to come and stay and play.
â¢ Practitioners act as a key person to a group of children, liaising closely with parents and carers and ensuring each childâs needs are recognised and met through the The Early Years Foundation Stage
Practitioners attend parents evening each term to discuss their key groupâs individual assessments with families.
â¢ Practitioners are to take regular observations of their âkey childrenâ and their activities, taking photos of their play and sharing this information with their parents on Tapestry

Practitioners implement the new skills with their key children in preschool supported by families mirroring the play at home.
â¢ Springwood preschool enrols children from age two, practitioners are responsible for carrying out two year old progress checks and monitor children's development on a tracking system highlight-ing areas of support needed and acting on them.
â¢ Practitioners attend relevant out of hourâs meetings and training courses as directed by their manager.
â¢ Staff are expected to advise there manager of any matter requiring attention such as concerns about a child, or equipment needing repair or replacement.
â¢ Staff must log injuries and inform their manager and ask parents to sign reports that are written
â¢ Staff are to keep any information about children in our care completely confidential failure to do this will result in disciplinary action
â¢ Staff take part in a washing rota
â¢ Staff take part in a deep clean every half term or when it is needed due to an illness.
