2 Year Care Manager Training Scheme

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven and committed individual with relevant skills and qualifications to enter into our Care Manager training scheme based in Limpley Stoke and covering Bath and Wiltshire
Because a number of our service users require male-only support teams, this current trainee position is for male applicants only
You will join an expanding, dynamic organisation specialising in flexible person-centred services that enable individuals with complex needs to live lives of their own choosing as included members of the community.

We are looking for someone with QCF level 3, or a degree in psychology, Social Work or other similar relevant degree plus 3 years' experience to commit to a training program that will lead to becoming a qualified Care Manager within 2 years:


6 month probation: hourly rate of GBP9.50 for 40 hours a week

During your 6 month probation you will be inducted into the company, complete your care manager induction programme, work on shift and get to know our Service Users and spend time familiarising yourself with office duties
At the end of this period you will have a review with your line manager and, if successful, you will begin the QCF level 5 care manager qualification.

Month 7 to completion of QCF level 5: salary based on experience and qualifications

The next period will be based on a 40h week with reducing hours on shift with Service Users and increasing hours in the office shadowing a Care Manager and learning the role
The company provides staff with a supported working environment that includes enhanced DBS, comprehensive training to recognised qualifications, 1:2:1 supervision, holiday pay, NEST pension and statutory sick pay.

Post Qualification - 1 year commitment

Ongoing: salary based on performance

On Completion of your QCF you will be a fully qualified Care Manager
Your main responsibilities will include supporting your service users with; liaising with multi-disciplinary teams of professionals, service users and family members; writing and reviewing service users' Individualised Support Plans, Risk Assessments and all accompanying documents; interviewing, training, supervising and monitoring teams of enablers to provide a totally person-centred service; maintaining staff and service user files; working directly with service users if required and being committed to working in an organisation where the input of staff and service users is heard and valued.

Person Specification;

* Excellent spoken/written English
* Level 3 QCF or Degree in Psychology, Social Work or another relevant subject plus 3 years' experience, appropriate skills, knowledge and experience in working closely with young adults with complex needs.
* Positive can-do-attitude with a proven track record of putting energy and enthusiasm into previously assigned tasks
* Good listening, communication and time management skills, a good sense of humour, friendly manner, sensitive approach and ability to empathise.
* Ability to engage effectively with people who have different communication abilities.
* Good IT skills.
* A commitment to and understanding of Enablement.
* Due to the nature of the role you must hold a full driving license and have access to your own vehicle and will receive a mileage allowance for qualifying journeys.
